trilogy harrison ford

For those who came of age in the 1980s during a time of sleek consumerism and homogenous globalization, Indiana Jones was something of an idol. Harking back to a time when the jungles of South America and the Pyramids of Egypt were truly a world away, the Indiana Jones trilogy excited in us a feeling of adventure that has been rarely seen before or since.

The popularity of the Indiana Jones movies stems not just from the fact that they were directed and acted by some of the greatest Hollywood talent of the day, but also from the fact that the movies were classic adventures. They were swashbuckling epics that found an ideal mix of adventure, intrigue and mystery, steeped in myth and mysticism.

This formula was clearly successful. The first Indiana Jones movie, Raiders of the Lost Ark, was the highest grossing movie of 1981 and was nominated for eight Academy Awards (of which it won four). The following two instalments, Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade, fared almost as well, each winning an Academy Award and grossing hundreds of millions of dollars.

Since 1989, though, all has been quiet on the Indy front. Despite regular calls for a fourth movie there were no developments for years. Rumor and hearsay surrounded plans for the fourth Indiana Jones movie since 1995, when Last Crusade writer Jeffrey Boam was asked to write a script.

Since then, several screenwriters and directors have attempted to take on the project—including Chris Columbus (Home Alone), M Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense) and Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption)—without success.

Finally, though, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Harrison Ford have accepted a script written by David Koepp (Spiderman, War of the Worlds). As of July 2006 Spielberg and Koepp were fine-tuning the screenplay in advance of pre-production, expected to begin in early 2007.

The question that will be repeatedly posed by fans of the series over the next couple of years is this: will it be possible to recreate the magic of the original trilogy? Hollywood has moved on since the 1980s, and audiences have come to demand big budget CGI and dazzling visual effects. Despite winning the Academy Award for Visual Effects with Temple of Doom, the appeal of the Indiana Jones movies was never in their special effects. In fact, Temple of Doom—admitted by Lucas and Spielberg as the most visual effects-heavy of the trilogy—saw the most disappointing box office performance of the three.

The main concern, though, is Harrison Ford’s age. Already in his 40s in Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ford will be at least 65 when filming begins on the fourth movie. Even with the use of makeup, camera trickery and stuntmen, how can it be possible to remain faithful to the original trilogy when the star is old enough to draw a pension?

Despite these worries, however, one thing is certain. Come the release date a couple of years from now we’ll see a sudden surge in the sales of fedoras and bullwhips. He may be old enough to qualify for a buss pass, but there’s something about Indiana Jones that brings out the child in us all.

one harrison ford

Harrison Fords Indiana Jones workout is about as tough of a movie star workout as it gets. For Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford is performing an intense workout and nutrition regime since the movie requires him to be in top physical shape since he needs to sprint, jump, role, crawl and just about anything else that someone combing through long lost ruins would need to do. His girlfriend recently took a moment to talk about the nutrition that is fueling his tough workout.

He is on a strict high protein diet. He is eating lots of fish and vegetables said girlfriend Calista Flockhart.

I think it is pretty simple. I mean we can look at him and tell he is not using drugs, which is often the reason that most people give for celebs getting in great shape. Plus we over complicate fat loss, it is alot easier than we think.

Now I am not working with Harrison but I imagine his workout looks something like this.

3 to 4 days of full body workouts with multi joint movements

3 to 4 sets of 8 to 15 reps per set

Short rest, around 30 to 45 seconds between sets

Aerobic training 3 to 4 days per week for 30 to 45 minutes

What is so interesting about his workout is that it is not your typical bodybuilding one set then rest workout. Harrison Ford knows that he can not be filming a scene then all of a sudden have to rest because he is out of shape. That is not what you would want to see out of a global trotting, treasure finding archaeologist.

Instead, he is training with multiple exercises that increase his ability to burn fat. Aside from the advantage of working out while he is still trying to recover from the previous exercise he is also helping his body burn fat for 24-48 hours after he is done working out. This is known as EPOC or Excess Post Exercise Oxygen Consumption, which basically means that your body is trying to replace the oxygen that you lost during your workout so it is burning fat to do so.

Not so bad. He also has to get a lot of work done in a short amount of time. I have been on movie sets and know that the days are long and tiring, even for the lead actors. So I highly doubt that he wants to go to the gym around 9 or 10 at night when they are done shooting and do a hour or so workout followed by long and boring cardio. Instead he gets all of the benefits of a cardio session during his workout.

I do not think he is taking a lot of supplements either. He is probably not even taking protein powder but just getting his nutrients from whole food.

Here is what I would have him do to build muscle and lose fat for the new Indiana Jones workout.

Everything would be timed rounds. So he would have to complete four exercises then rest for 60 seconds then he would go back to the first exercise again. After three sets of each he would then move to second round of exercises. We would do 3 sets of 3 different rounds, everything 12 reps.

1st round
Pull-ups
Push-ups
Bodyweight Squats
Bodyweight Lunges

2nd round
Dips
Close Grip Push-ups
Flat Dumbbell Chest Press
Box Jumps

3rd round
Jump Push-ups
Dumbbell Step-ups
Hi Cable Chops
Front Medicine Ball Squats

When Ridley Scott’s cut of Blade Runner was finally released in 1993, one had to wonder why the studio hadn’t done it right the first time–11 years earlier. Generally underrated by critics, this 1978 sequel to the famous Guns of Navarone finds a miscellaneous group of commandos and spies trying to hinder the Nazis by destroying a bridge between them and the partisans. So you have met your date everything seems to be going ok so you want to tell them but don’t move to quickly here its time to step back.

Trying to hard to impress, or simply thinking that because someone is friendly they must be interested in is not necessarily so.

You need to wait for the right moment.

Waiting for the right moment

You may be itching to tell someone you fancy them but you need to take a more subtle approach.

This will stop you being knocked back and allow things to develop naturally unless they express a strong interest in you or give the right body language but more of that later.

Let’s look at the first date.

The first date

It’s gone well but what you need to do is simply arrange a second date don’t get involved in saying how attractive you think they are simply say:

“You enjoyed their company and want to see them againâ€

That’s it.

Women don’t particularly like men that are too eager and give the impression of wanting their bodies before their minds, or are too intense or full on.

Take a step back.

You enjoyed their company and you want to see them again it’s as simple as that.

Body language that shows your date fancies you.

There are however definite signs (even on a first date) that your date fancies you and all you need to do is look at body language.

Tell tale signs are someone who adopts a relaxed manner and leans forwards you and holds eye contact for long periods.

If someone is not sure or attracted they will normally retain distance and take up defensive postures such as arms folded.

Watch for this eye contact move it shows definite interest

Eye to eye contact is made.

Then the eyes go down to the mouth and follow the rest of the body down and back up to the eyes. It takes a while and you will notice it.

Women, who are relaxed or fancy you, will show you their wrists and will have a tendency to play with their hair or touch you on the arm when talking.

Watch the Knees & Legs

When sitting down watch for one knee bent to allow the foot to be tucked under the opposite thigh.

The knee point will be aimed directly at you.

This is a very relaxed position and shows she is comfortable and wants your full attention.

Many women will use a more obvious move.

This one should be termed the “Sharon Stone Pose” and was used in Basic Instinct and is a very memorable scene.

With one leg pressed against the other tightly she will then combine this with the placing of one hand on her thigh and move it drawing your gaze down.

This position of the hand on the thigh is a serious I am interested in you.

The Perfect set up!

Watch for the following:

A woman crosses her legs and moves her shoe towards you so you have to look at it.

She may go further and let her shoe on the top leg hang off her foot and starts playing with it.

This means she wants a response from you now!

Dont rush your date many will not show an interest on the first date so don’t be to keen if they agree to a second date your on the right course.

When you see obvious body language encouraging you then you can show an interest.
