As all of you are aware lately legal problems have abounded all over the NFL. While it is true that “High Profile” players are the only thing the media cares about, there are many more incidents that are not reported as widely. But, if you pick up a local newspaper in any area where there is interest in a NFL Team, you will find many more arrests. I am wondering if this issue has become worse in recent years, or has it always been taken care of, or swept under the rug in the past? If so, then why now?

Today the media has its focus on only two players …Mike Vick and Steve McNair. But, if you look further into the troubles the NFL is having, you will find that there are many more players with troubling legal problems. As of last season the Cincinnati Bengals had thirteen players arrested on numerous charges. Some of these charges were things such as, Weapons Violations, Spouse Abuse and Intoxication while boating. Then there is Tank Johnson, who was released from the Bears first then this past off season was let go by the Cowboys, only to wind up at, ahem, the Bengals.  So much for cleaning up the team.   He has already been found guilty on a Weapons Charge and has served four months in jail. Should fit in perfectly in Cincinnati.

I also found that boozing has become a huge problem in the league.   Players like Jeremy Stevens has been arrested twice for DUI and served time.  So many players are just like him.  In fact, 37 players in the NFL have had at least 2 DUI’s.  Stevens was also involved with a “Hit and Run” back in 2001.  Way to be that role model.  And of course Sean Taylor of the Washington Redskins, before he was murdered senselessly, was arrested routinely during his brief career.

Statistics compiled since 2000 have found that 408 citations or arrest have been made, and that is not counting any minor infractions. One statistic states that there have been 148 arrests in the past seven years.  That is about 1 in 144 NFL players arrested due to alcohol. It is also reported that defensive backs and wide receivers account for 230 incidents, those two being the most highly rated positions for arrests.

Over all these actions are very common when set against general population.  I think that the combination of money and age, is the largest factors that comes into play. Take any young man in their early twenties and you will find that they spend most of their nights in a bar while partying with friends. Now take those same young men, add millions of dollars on top of that, plus the ego that comes with being a professional football player, and you can see why the statistics are so high.  In the past these actions were kept more under raps by the executives who ran the teams. Why that has changed now? I am not sure, except that I do believe the media has further with the power of the internet, and more high tech devices at their disposal, sensationalized every indiscretion these players make. Plus, the players have high powered agents who believe that “No Press” coverage is worse thing possible. Don’t believe me? Look at the whole T.O. “Suicide” attempt a while back. Drew Rosenhaus had a field day with it. And now if Owens has a sore back we know about it! Football players no longer work for themselves, but are huge corporations. Long gone are the days when the NFL still had a sense of innocence. Instead to the detriment of all its fans, it has been replaced with agents, egos and rap sheets!

Prior to Kevin Costner’s rise to movie stardom in the films Bull Durham and Field Of Dreams, he played the lead role in the Pentagon suspense thriller No Way Out. With an all-star cast that includes Gene Hackman, Sean Young, and Will Patton, this is an often overlooked film that’s 114 minutes of pure entertainment. Following in the footsteps of countless Cold War thrillers, No Way Out is similar to James Bond meets Jack Ryan. If you enjoy throwback films to the days of capitalism versus communism, you’ll definitely enjoy this film. Wrought with suspense, No Way Out is one movie that keeps the viewing audience on its toes and never lets upÂ…

When Lt. Cmdr. Tom Farrell (Kevin Costner) is assigned to a post in the Pentagon working directly for Secretary of Defense David Brice (Gene Hackman), he strikes up a relationship at a Washington social gathering with Susan Atwell (Sean Young). Leaving the party together, the two begin a secret love affair that encompasses weekend sailing trips and regular contact. But Farrell is aware that another man is in Atwell’s life. What he doesn’t know is that the other man is his boss, Secretary Brice.

When Brice and Atwell get into an argument at her Georgetown apartment, it results in her falling from the top of the staircase to her death. Distraught and unable to think, Brice calls his top aide Scott Pritchard (Will Patton). Pritchard clears the crime scene of evidence linking the death to Brice, and convinces the Secretary to deny any involvement in the woman’s death. As a scapegoat, Pritchard blames the woman’s death on a KGB mole who he claims was trying to sleep with Atwell in order to get information about Secretary Brice’s day-to-day affairs.

Placing Farrell in charge of the investigation, a Polaroid negative is found underneath Atwell’s bed – a photograph that, once developed, will reveal his relationship with Atwell. Pentagon computer imaging experts are placed in charge of recovering the picture, which bit-by-bit is restored to its original image with each passing minute. Fearful that he will be fingered as the KGB mole and pinned with a murder he did not commit, Farrell must race against the clock to find Atwell’s true killer before the newly developed picture exposes him to the worldÂ…

Enlisting the aid of his friends, Farrell buys some extra time to investigate the case. But time runs out when Pritchard fingers him as the mole and the Pentagon security detail hems him inÂ… Can Farrell escape with his life? Â…or will the true killer go free?

Fast-paced, suspenseful, and exhibiting all the aspects of a classic Soviet-era spy game drama, No Way Out will have you poised on the edge of your seat. Featuring a surprise conclusion that will bring a smile to your face, this is a well-written screenplay performed flawlessly on screen. A war-era thriller that keeps the audience guessing until the end, No Way Out is a definite must-see filmÂ…

Many people are looking into the options of term life insurance Alberta due to dropping rates. Alberta has continued to be a forerunner in Canada for sound insurance practices. Term life insurance can be purchased all the way up to 100-year terms.

Typically, term life insurance comes in increments of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 60, 70, 75, and 100 years. When the policy term expires, the policyholder may renew at a higher rate.

Term life insurance covers spouse retirement policies, education and marriage of children, debt, and income for the entire family or dependents. To find out how much term life insurance you need, play around online with an insurance calculator. You’ll save a lot of time and money when you pull up over 50 quotes at the same time.

Follows these tips to get the best deal:

· Purchase from a broker rather than a financial institution. A broker has your best interest in mind. Plus, they are licensed to provide you with disclosures and requirements.

· Instead of renewing, look for another policy with lower rates.

· If you smoke cigars, some companies will consider you a non-smoker.

· Lock in as much as you can afford. Shorter policies offer lower rates.

· Select companies with the lowest renewal rates. Later on down the road finding a good price will be harder than it is now. Companies that are known for good renewal rates are just as valuable as the initial quote.

Term life insurance in Alberta is a great option for families both young and old. The peace of mind that a term life insurance policy offers is worth it. Live your life knowing that your loved ones will always be provided for.

Why do we still cheer for our favorite wrestler?

After the stuff they did like for example Scott hall, Sean Waltman, and Jeff Hardy to this day. For getting cought by getting suspended, or other stuff that will put them on tv.

Why do we still cheer for them?

WQ: Which side are you on, The Young Wrestlers’, or The Veterans’?

Because thats what loyal fans do. Its hard, i mean some people have turned their back on those Wrestlers but you gotta remember; Their not perfect. We should focus on the Wrestlers in the ring rather than out. They still entertain us, not only that but tons of Wrestlers have done things like drugs and we still chear for them. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, Edge ect..have all made mistakes; whether that be drugs or bad behavour and all have large fan bases.

We chear for them because were their fans, we respect everything they do for us and WWE itself. Its not our place to Judge things their responsible for them selves. What those wrestlers, or ANY wrestlers have done doesn’t make it any more right or wrong because their ‘famous’. We chear because were Wrestling fans, we chear for what we see in the ring, we chear because their faces and boo because their heels. Thats the way it goes. We look past the mistakes they have made and see them as The Wrestlers who go out every week to entertain us.

What they do in the ring is what we chear for, not what they do outside, thats their own business. As Wrestling fans, were only meant to focus on what goes on in the ring, thats why we chear them.

Into the Wild is the best-selling non-fiction book by Jon Krakauer. Telling the story of Christopher McCandless, a young wanderer and adventurer who succumbed to starvation and died in the Alaskan wilderness, the book spent more than two years on the New York Times bestseller list when it was first published in 1996.

On September 21st, the movie directed by Sean Penn and based upon Into the Wild will be released. It’s already receiving stellar reviews from the film festival circuit and I suspect that the movie will impact people in the same way that the book did. The story of Chris McCandless is simultaneously tragic, dumb-founding, irritating and passionately moving.

I ‘m a big fan of Jon Krakauer and its primarily because of this book, Into the Wild, and his other book, Into Thin Air, about the ill-fated Everest expedition in 1996 that turned into a total disaster. All of his books are excellent, but Into the Wild is definitely my favorite book of the bunch and also the first book I read by him. Into Thin Air is brilliant as well, but Into the Wild really guts me. The movie trailer for Into the Wild has an incredible effect on me as well. So far it’s made me cry every time I watch it. It gives me shivers. I’ve never been crazy about the other films directed by Sean Penn, they are kind of dreary, but I am really looking forward to this one.

Since the story behind it is just one of those things that grabs people, I expect it will be one of those movies that people talk about. The book itself spent two years on the bestseller list and it really is just an incredible and heart-breaking story — and also tends to be controversial since people have such markedly different opinions about Chris and his decisions — was he a fool or a visionary? My personal opinion is that he was both and I don’t think I’m alone in thinking so.

If you’ve never read the book, I highly recommend it. Regardless of how you feel about Christopher McCandless when you come away from it, Krakauer is an absolutely gripping storyteller.

For complete coverage of Into the Wild, including the book by Jon Krakauer and the film by Sean Penn, please visit the Christopher McCandless site.
